Proposed Karl King Bronze Statue

This is how the proposed bronze statue of Karl L. King would look.

The Noon Rotary Club of Fort Dodge has taken on the project of raising $62,000 to provide a life-size bronze statue which is proposed to be placed in Oleson Park next to the flagpole near the Karl King Bandshell.  The sculptor will be Paul Rieffer, who also was commissioned for the statue of Meredith Willson in Mason City, Iowa.

Harlan Pfaff, who is spearheading the fundraising effort, is pictured with Nancy Olson
at the King Band office in the Fort Dodge library. Harlan explained that the effort is
coming along well, with about half of the funds secured.
