with the second state convention of the Iowa Bandmasters Association.

Musicians from twelve bands comprising more than 350 performers paraded down Central Avenue before playing several pieces together in front of the new bandstand. Karl King is in the dark uniform at the lower left of the photo (just to the right of the American flag). Lou Pray is pictured as the drum major leading the band.
