In 1968 Don Butterfield, noted tuba player from New Jersey, performed with the Karl King Band at one of the summer concerts in Oleson Park.
Note that during this time a wrought iron fence and keep out signs had been placed around the bandshell. Occasionally graffiti artists didn't resist the temptation to practice their craft on the large white structure.
Mr. Dvorak, Director of Bands at the University of Wisconsin, who was travelling with Don is pictured above with Karl King and Don Butterfield.
