The Karl L. King Municipal Band Director conducts the Ames Municipal Band

Conductor Jerrold Jimmerson was asked to conduct on July 23, 2015.

THE KING BAND DIRECTOR Conductor Jerrold P. Jimmerson was asked to conduct the Ames Municpal Band when Dr. Michael Golemo was gone to Ohio for a funeral.

Jive for Five is the "warm-up act" playing a hour before the Ames Municipal Band performance.

The concert was held in the historic Ames Bandshell Park

After Jive, the Ames Municipal Band came on stage to be conducted by Jimmerson.

Kevin Judge is the ISU bassoonist performer and teacher.  He performed a solo accompanied by the band.

       Jerry Jimmerson gave the Ames audience a program that included several Karl King numbers, including Golden Dragon (overture).

Jive for Five came back on stage to perform with the band.

The Ames Municipal Band performs a hymn each week.

      The final number was Karl King's best-known composition, Barnum and Bailey's Favorite.     While the last tune is performed, the bandshell lights change colors with the beats    Although not visible in this photo, towards the end of  Barnum and Bailey's Favorite, Five For Five came back on stage to help the Ames Band band give a fitting climax to Karl King's well-known masterpiece.
